Coming Out

Xander/Andrew
Disclaimer: Not mine, I just like to play.
Spoilers: "Damage", kinda sorta, vaguely

"What's cooking?" Xander asked as he came into the kitchen.

"Chocolate chip cookie bars," Andrew replied, taking the pan out of the oven and placed it on the stove. "I know you've been wanting them."

Xander came up behind the younger man, put his hands on his hips, and pulled him against him. "What'd I do to deserve you?" he murmured as he nuzzled Andrew's neck, causing the smaller man to shiver.

"I think it should be the other way around," Andrew said, as he twisted around to face Xander. He reached up and pulled Xander down into a hungry kiss.

"Mmm," Xander moaned into Andrew's mouth. Breaking apart, he said, "I think I'd rather have some of this than what you're making."

"You're turning down chocolate?" Andrew asked, amazed.

"Only when I get to have you instead."

The timer went off. "Excuse me for a second." Andrew turned to turn off the oven, but Xander didn't let go of him. "If you actually want any of this, I suggest hands off until the picnic."

Xander nuzzled Andrew's neck. "That's not fair."

"Neither are you."

Xander stopped and put his chin on Andrew's shoulder, and wrapped his arms around the smaller man. "What do you mean?"

"You won't tell the others and won't let me tell them."

"I'm sorry," Xander replied, instantly contrite. "We'll tell them this afternoon."

Andrew's smile brightened to about 1000 watts. "Are you sure?"

"Positive." Xander pulled away and smacked Andrew's bottom. "Now, come on or we'll be late."

That afternoon, the Sunnydale group convened in a London park for a picnic. It was for their two year anniversary of defeating the army of the Toruk-han and to remember those who hadn't made it.

After the desserts had been served, Xander cleared his throat and said, "I have an announcement to make." He waited a second for everyone's attention and then blushed when he realized everyone's eyes were on him. "Much to Andrew's exasperation, I've been hesitant about saying this -"

"You *are* together, aren't you?" Dawn asked with a huge grin.

"Well, uh," Xander blushed. "Yes, we are. How long have you known?"

"A while."

"What about the rest of you?"

They nodded.

"And you're okay with it?"

The group laughed and nodded again.

"I told you they would be, silly," Andrew said with a smile as he kissed Xander on the cheek. "Considering what we deal with, you and I are kind of normal."

"I guess so," Xander said with a smile.

"Think we'll ever have a commitment ceremony?" Andrew asked that night after they climbed in bed and he was settled into Xander's arms. "Not that, you know, I want to rush into anything."

"Maybe," Xander replied. "Or maybe we'll get lucky and by the time we're ready, we'll be able to get married. But I'm not too -" His breath hitched slightly.

"Shh," Andrew soothed as he put a hand on Xander's cheek. "It's okay. I'm sorry for bringing that up."

"I'm fine, really." Xander buried his face in Andrew's hair. "Today just has me thinking about things, you know?"

"Yeah," Andrew replied. He moved and kissed Xander softly. "I love you," he said, pulling away.

"I love you too," Xander replied as Andrew turned over, and then pulled him close.
